Australia's bushland is alive with an extraordinary variety of birdlife, from tiny wrens and finches to honeyeaters, robins and the many other species that inhabit our forests, woodlands and open country.

Some of my favourite moments behind the camera come from simply slowing down, listening and watching. Often it is the smallest birds that create the most memorable encounters — appearing briefly amongst the branches before disappearing back into the landscape.
